About

UK based artist Lucy Wroe is a songwriter who enjoys dipping in and out of genres. Raised in Winchester in the south of England, she took herself up to London in 2018. Lucy loves the early years of 2000s pop, soul/RnB from the classic Etta James to the contemporary Lianne La Havas or Leon Bridges; expanding into an (unhealthy) obsession with Q-Tip, and beyond into the soft realm of Joni-folk. This is all unpacked in her music, with each new release capturing multiple angles of these influences, wrapping them all up into something entirely new and Wroe-like. She sits somewhere on the smoky edge of pop and folk, with a hand in the soft electronic pool…

Since 2024, Lucy has been drawing particular inspiration from Radiohead, Kate Bush, Caroline Polachek and Bon Iver.Heartbeat Wipers”, produced with close friend and bandmate Philipp Koerver, marked the close of a difficult year, while the 2025 single “The Vault” saw this production duo reach out into a more powerful world of left-field pop.

Lucy Wroe has earned critical praise from publications like CLOUT, Mezmerised and PowHer Sound. Her work has been championed by BBC Introducing, featured on the 2023 CarFest Line-up, and she has recorded at the iconic BBC Maida Vale Studios (2024).

Working closely with long-time producer Tom b of The Corner Productions, Lucy also features on his EP ‘Little Songs’ with the tender ‘Lavender Water’, and the groovy standalone single ‘She’s Like A Dream’. Their collaboration ‘Cold Water’ is an unforgiving comment on the modern music industry and was a Bandcamp-exclusive release to raise money for the Palestianian Children’s Relief Fund, before later being added to streaming platforms.
